Katy McEwen
Senior Internal and External Communications Consultant
Annual Report Specialist
Financial Specialist
Charity and Not-For-Profit Specialist
Katy has always been around words. From the age of 16, she first worked with them in a bookshop in the UK. Then, inspired by the story of Allen Lane, the founder of Penguin, she joined Penguin Books in London where she wrote everything from copy for the back of the books to catalogues, marketing materials and advertisements while honing her editing and proofreading skills.
After a move to Australia in 1988, Katy worked as Head of Communications for Carlton and United Breweries, where she was responsible for internal and external communications collateral. The entire company’s words were placed in her hands and she put together its wide range of publications and collateral including annual reports, company newsletters, press releases and corporate briefing papers.
Most recently Katy returned to her publishing roots working for Allen & Unwin book publishers in Sydney, writing copy for Rights Guides and Catalogues.
Katy has also written many articles, brochures and communications materials for charities and not-for-profit organisations including the Australian National Trust and The Smith Family.
